Van Zandt stated he felt the crime was committed by someone in anger or frustration, definitely accidental

BPD Press Release: Boulder Police Commander Mark Beckner will present the case to Boulder District Attorney Alex Hunter on June 1 and 2. The presentation will take place at the CU Coors Events Center.

Beckner holds a press conference outlining some details of the previous two days of meetings:

590 people have been interviewed, a total of 64 outside consultants have been used, 68 possible suspects were interviewed, and 54 convicted sex offenders were interviewed.
they have 1,058 pieces of evidence; 500 have been tested
there are 30,000 pages of information on the case
700 phone tips have come in
22,000 hours have been spent on the case
investigation has covered 17 states had 94 tasks, of which 27 are remaining, some of these the Grand Jury will help with
things they want from the Grand Jury are records and certain interviews
stated the baton has been passed to the DA

Beckner stated "I have an idea who did it, yes" when asked about the killer.

Hunter stated on this same date that "don't have enough to file a case yet; still have a lot of work to do."

Hunter stated there is disagreement on which way the case should go at this point

Hunter states the Grand Jury's purpose in part is to give them new tools to scratch out new information

Hunter was asked about case resolution and he stated that he felt before these meetings that it would be resolved, and feels even stronger now after the meetings.

Hunter stated they have "open minds" but still have a "target theory."

Hunter stated had not decided on a Grand Jury, but will review the reasons offered by the BPD

Police predict the Grand Jury investigation could take as long as 5 months, should it make it to the grand jury level

Wecht states again that this was a sex game gone awry by John Ramsey

Wecht also states that this case has more evidence than some he has been involved in during his career. He feels it is prosecutable even at this point

Dr Lee states that they are looking at the handwriting evidence, the tape, the chord for further type testing

John and Patsy Ramsey were interviewed in Broomfield Colorado. Interviews went on the 23d, 24th, and 25th.

Tapes of the interviews were delivered to the Boulder Police at 2hr intervals and Boulder Police met with these investigators at night to give feedback

Through a spokesman for the DA's office it was announced that the Boulder Police have now shared the results of DNA analysis with the prosecutors. It was not announced as to exactly when this sharing occurred

News of a documentary on the Ramsey to be aired in Great Britain surfaces.

Boulder District Attorney Alex Hunter on Friday disputed claims by defense lawyers that his office conducted numerous formal and informal interviews with John and Patsy Ramsey for more than a year.

Hunter also indicated the number of documents given to investigators by the couple has been limited.

Pozner refuted Hunter's claim and said the Ramseys provided the DA's office with "many documents and that they interviewed many times with Lou Smit"
