Darnay Hoffman reportedly has asked janet reno to intervene in the Ramsey case. Hoffman states Romer (gov of colorado) may have allowed campaign contributions from John and Patsy Ramsey to influence his [Romer's] decision not to remove Boulder District Attorney Alex Hunter from the Ramsey case. Hoffman also claims to have raised the possibility [in his letter to Reno] of a special probe of Romer because he is a "covered person" under the Independent Counsel Act.

Hoffman was quoted as saying: "There's going to be a runaway grand jury in Boulder. That's why Hunter should resign."
