Dear Friends,

It has been awhile since I updated you as to what has been going on with me. So many e-mails, calls and letters have come in that the best way to address you is in this letter. I am sorry I cannot reach each of you personally but this litigation and the surrounding "sideshow" keeps me busy. We are continuing to raise money these days because people like you, your friends, and other good people insist that we are right on this issue. Every time a donation passes to the Defense Fund, we are one step closer to beating this frivolous lawsuit.

There are more than the obvious ways to be attacked and most of them I won't dignify with a response. It seems, though, that when rumor and innuendo make it to the chat rooms, it somehow finds it ways to the mailrooms, the editor's office and eventually into our living rooms.

As Mark Twain once said, "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated." I add to that, "the reports of my demise are greatly exaggerated," too. I continue to live in Denver--the same state where I have worked, studied, built a law enforcement career and a carpentry business. I remain very happily married to my wife (who was recently transferred with her work assignment).

As for the Thomas Miller incident last week, my able attorneys are handling that action. They will speak at the appropriate time. Any questions should be referred to them.

Let's be honest. I know how quickly "chats" can become the "facts".

But I also know that friends, supporters and justice seekers will bypass these ridiculous "sideshows" and keep the big picture in mind.

Until then, I am sincerely,

Steve Thomas
